Gazette staff-written stories, from 1992-present, are available at NewsBank, a newspaper story archive website used by newspapers across the country. Use this link:
Select Iowa, then select “Gazette, The (Cedar Rapids – Iowa City).”
There is a small fee to retrieve the full story once you have completed your search. This site has articles only, no pages or photos.

This is a subscription site which requires a monthly subscription. During that month you can search for as many items as you like for the one monthly fee. The pages are downloadable as PDFs.
You will find a few gaps where pages are missing. The World War II years of the early 1940s are not present due to deterioration of the microfilm used to create PDFs. SourceMedia Group, which owns The Gazette, is working with Heritage Microfilm to create a full replica of all of The Gazette’s past pages in digital format. This website currently is approximately 90% complete.
